Finding a best track on an album this good is extremely hard, but this is definitely a contender.

Alexi Murdoch is the kind of artist that gives off every sign of being terrible until you actually listen to the music, and then it’s like, “Hello, I am a fan. I would like to listen to all of your things”.

This is a song by Harmonium, a Canadian folk/prog band from the ’70s that’s becoming one of my favorite groups. They’re more or less unknown outside of Quebec, which is a shame since I think their music would appeal to anyone with even the slightest interest in folk. If you like groups like Bon Iver, Fleet Foxes, Simon and Garfunkel or even Jethro Tull than this is a band that you should at least check out. This song is “Vert” from their magnum opus, Si On Avait Besoin D’une Cinquième Saison, or “If We Needed a Fifth Season”. You should listen to the whole album, though.

The most conceptually brilliant cover in an article discussing the best pre-Comics Code Authority horror covers. The analysis is pretty badly written, but the covers themselves are excellent, so go have a look if you’re in the mood for some extra spookery.
Seriously though, is this cover amazing or what? Just a great idea that’s masterfully drawn. The human face resting dully on top of the skeleton’s head almost recalls something of a guro aesthetic, as well. Interesting stuff for this, or any, era of comics.
