I guess I love Jesu?
I guess I love Jesu.
I have no idea how a song this beautiful didn’t make it onto one of his studio albums. The world is a horrible place for keeping this track out of most everyone’s line of sight and a wonderful place for allowing it to exist at all.
Gary Moore played guitar on one of my favorite albums of all time, “Black Rose: A Rock Legend” by Thin Lizzy. He was found dead in Spain earlier this morning. In honor of his passing, here is the title track of that album, a song that I believe has one of the greatest guitar solos of all time-not in terms of technical ability, although there is plenty of that. I mean in terms of squeezing every last drop of emotion out of the instrument, until the chords end up sweeping you away.
R.I.P., Gary. You were an inspiration.
Speaking as a huge Peter Gabriel fan, Mouth of the Architect’s post-metal cover of “In Your Eyes” might surpass even the original. This band officially has my money whenever they want it.
